As president of Simmons University since 2008, Helen G. Drinan has guided the school to new levels of competitive strength financially, academically, and operationally. An ardent advocate for women’s education as a pathway to leadership, she is a member of several organizations working to empower women, including 2020 Women on Boards, the Massachusetts Women’s Forum, and the Mount Holyoke College Board of Trustees. Before her appointment at Simmons, Drinan had a highly successful career in the private and nonprofit sectors, with stints as senior vice president of human resources at Caritas Christi Health Care, president and CEO of the Society of Human Resources Management, and executive vice president of human resources for BankBoston. She currently serves on the board of directors of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and is a member of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities in Massachusetts (AICUM).
